Cahaba Landing at Grants Mill Road

Cahaba Landing in Irondale offers access to the Cahaba River just minutes from downtown Birmingham. To reach the trail and river, visitors navigate a steep paved path that leads down from the parking area to a well-maintained gravel trail running alongside the water, with multiple access points to the river along the way. Whether you're hiking the gravel trail, dipping your paddle in the current, or simply soaking in the surroundings, Cahaba Landing offers a richly rewarding and family-friendly outdoor experience.

The first canoe and kayak launch is a concrete pad just past the bridge; however, during low-water periods, launching a boat here can be challenging. A bit further down the trail, natural stone steps descend directly into the river, providing a much easier and more natural put-in for canoes and kayaks.
