Hoover East Sports Complex offers a delightful and family-friendly way to experience the Cahaba River in a casual, accessible setting. 1.9 miles of easy hiking trails wind around the sports fields, making for a pleasant walk suitable for visitors of all ages and fitness levels. A bridge provides access to the Cahaba River. This section of the river is often quite shallow, making it wonderfully wadeable for adventurous kids and adults alike who want to cool off, splash around, or simply feel the current flowing over their feet on a warm day.
From Highway 31
Turn onto Lorna Road, then turn onto Old Rocky Ridge Road and follow for approximately three miles. The park will be on the right.
From I-459
Take the Acton Road exit. Follow Acton Road north to the intersection of Old Rocky Ridge Road. Turn left on Old Rocky Ridge Road. Travel approximately one mile and the park will be on the left.
Hoover East Sports Complex is located in the heart of Hoover, with easy access to convenience stores, restaurants, and other services.
Trails at Hoover East Sports Complex are suitable for people with a range of abilities, but the river trails are not wheelchair accessible.
