Altadena Valley Park

Altadena Valley Park is a tranquil 66-acre passive park in Vestavia Hills, Alabama, situated on the grounds of the former Altadena Valley Country Club golf course along the banks of the Cahaba River. Walkers and joggers enjoy the park's mix of paved and dirt paths that wind through the expansive green space, offering a peaceful escape into nature. A pond adds to the park's scenic charm. A pavilion is available on site, and the park has restrooms for visitor convenience.

Altadena Valley Park is a great way to enjoy the Cahaba in the heart of Birmingham’s suburbs. The park lies just off of Acton Road near the intersection of Interstate 459 and Highway 280.

 

There are numerous convenience stores, restaurants, and hotels within 2 miles of Altadena Valley Park, but there is no camping in the vicinity.

Altadena Valley Park offers some paved walking trails. Access to the river requires a hike on primitive trails. There is no drive-up access to the canoe launch.
