Living River Retreat

Living River Retreat on the Cahaba River is a truly special and serene destination for paddlers and hikers seeking an immersive experience along one of Alabama's most treasured waterways. It is an ideal spot for your group activity or retreat. Living River is situated on a breathtaking bend of the Cahaba River that wraps around the property on three sides, enveloping visitors in the sights, sounds, and beauty of the river from nearly every angle. The property is owned and maintained by a Presbyterian Church (USA), and as such, access is thoughtfully managed to respect its primary mission as a camp and retreat facility. Visitors must call ahead to make a reservation, or plan to visit on one of Living River’s monthly “open days.”

Living River features miles of hiking trails, extensive river access, and facilities to accommodate a variety of group needs.
